In the Middle East, life can be difficult for Christians. They are often the last to be hired and if they have jobs, they can be poorly paid. Persecution is on the rise in some regions and as political turmoil continues many Christians question what the future holds for them.

 Please pray that:

  • Pastors in the Middle East would be a great encouragement to their congregations through their preaching and the lives they live

  • People would not have a spirit of fear but would sense God’s presence with them

  • Members of congregations would care for one another and also love their neighbours as themselves

  • Congregations, regardless of denomination, would work together in their communities rather than separately

  • People thinking of leaving the Middle East would seek guidance from God before doing so

  • Those who face persecution would be upheld and encouraged by the Lord

  • Despite the ill-treatment they receive, Middle Eastern Christians will be the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities and will see His provision for them

  • The Lord of the Harvest will send out more workers from Canada and from around the world to the Middle East; people willing to listen and learn from their Middle Eastern brothers and sisters

  • Churches throughout Canada will want to learn about the Church in the Middle East, will support Middle Eastern congregations through prayer and as God leads them to help

In Canada, churches have a God-given opportunity to reach Middle Eastern people living in their neighbourhoods.

Please pray that:

  • Congregations will pray for their neighbours from the Middle East and be open to whatever God wants them to do for them

  • Christians won’t be afraid to befriend Middle Eastern people

  • Christians who work among Muslims in Canada will be given wisdom and will know when to speak, what to say and what to do

  • God will remove the obstacles that prevent Middle Eastern people from hearing and understanding His good news

  • Middle Eastern people will accept Jesus as their Saviour; finding in Him all they need

  • Congregations, individuals, and Christian organizations working among Middle Eastern people will have the strength, courage and resources they need to do what  God is calling them to do

  • The life and love of Christ will be seen in all Christians, dispelling the misconceptions Middle Eastern people have about Jesus and Christians
